Can you reheat Kale?

There are a few ways to reheat kale that are perfectly safe. You can use the microwave, the skillet, or even in the oven! Pick your appliance and let’s get to cooking!

Microwave

Add your serving to a microwave safe dish, add a splash (a palm full, not even a 1/8 of a cup) of water, or if you like, one tablespoon of olive oil. Stir.

Heat on MEDIUM power, for a minute and a half, stir the greens and continue heating in 45-second bursts if you would like it to be warmer.

Skillet

You sauteed the greens to create a delicious dish; you can do the same to reheat it! Simply use a stove safe skillet, combine one tablespoon olive oil and your greens. Heat on LOW heat until loose, and wonderful. This should take about eight minutes, depending on how much you are trying to make.

Oven

When you need to set it and do something else for a short while, the oven is always a great fallback.

In an oven safe dish, add your kale and oil, or even broth if you have it on hand. Place in a 300 degree F oven. Be sure to check on it from time to time, as it can brown very quickly and ruin your dish.

You can expect your dish to be done in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Collard greens are great for any time of the day. So from munching on kale as a healthy snack at the office, or you have it as a comfort food at home, it can go wherever you go!
