Can You Reheat Eggs?

There are thousands of recipes out there that require the use of eggs. However, in our daily lives, we run into a few of the most common ones such as keesh, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, and so on. While many, vary in their production, reheating them can be summed up in a few short ways.

Keesh

Keesh is an egg-based dish that will best warmed in the oven. Simply cover with aluminum foil to ensure it does not dry out, and place it in a warmed oven and bake at 300 degrees Farenhieght. Your keesh should be warmed through in about 20 minutes, depending on how dense it is. Use a toothpick and poke into the innermost section of the pie, and feel if it comes out warm.

Scrambled Eggs

To reheat scrambled eggs, you should use a lightly greased skillet. To reheat, just add about a tablespoon of butter or oil to the skillet, add your leftovers, and warm over medium-low heat. Be sure not to scorch your eggs, and in about 3-5 minutes your eggs will be warmed through.

Poached Eggs

Poached eggs are a delight at any time of day, so reheating them is a must in many households! The best way to warm them back up is to place the egg in a glass of warm tap water for 5-7 minutes. Because there is no shell, it will warm through much faster.

Important Tip: Never use a microwave to reheat any egg product! The microwave provides inconsistent heat, and will overcook some areas while leaving a chill on the others. This heating pattern is what causes rubbery eggs, and that is not a tasty meal!

Eggs are important staples to many dishes, and, therefore, need to be acknowledged as such. Reheating these essentials is how you can keep your meals tasty and fresh while also being great on time!
