Q: I just recently started drinking tea, and I was wondering what is the best way to reheat it?
A: Tea is very simple to reheat, and it is all based on personal preference. There are a two great ways to reheat it, the microwave and the stove.
The Microwave
When you are microwaving your tea, be sure to remove the tag on the tea bag, if you are microwaving it together. The tag contains a tiny staple, and metal in a microwave is a big no-no! It will spark and could cause a fire.
Simply place your mug of tea into the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. If you like it scalding hot, one minute and 30 seconds typically is enough based on an 1100 watt microwave. You should check it every 30 seconds to ensure that it is coming to the temperature that you like.
The Stove Top Method
Using the stove to warm your tea is pretty easy. Simply add your tea to a pot and turn it on low heat. Give it about five minutes, and it should be warm. Depending on how hot you like your tea, feel free to leave it on for longer. Be sure you do not boil the tea bags as they are fragile and may be broken open, leaving you with tea leaves in your beverage.
Instead of setting the kettle back on, you can now reheat your tea quickly and easily using these methods. What method have you used? Do you have any tips to share with other readers? We would love to hear from you.
